Great Question!

There’s nothing wrong with article directories in particular,
but they’re not going to send you nearly the kind of traffic
that you can get with high-profile content syndication (which
refers to guest blogging and contributing content to the most
popular sites within your market.) You will get much more traffic
by submitting your best, exclusive content to the top sites within
your market.

You can also multiply the marketing exposure of your content by
repurposing it into multiple formats. So for example you can take
your articles, turn them into PDF reports and then syndicate them
to all of the top ebook directories online. This will get your content
thousands of extra views and will allow you to sign up hundreds of
extra subscribers for each report you syndicate.

This is an EXTREMELY powerful technique that very few people are using.
You can also re-purpose your content by turning it into podcasts, videos, autoresponders, etc… And each time you re-purpose your content you can then syndicate it for even further exposure. The best part is that re-purposing your content requires very little work on
your part.

So instead of getting stuck just slaving away submitting your articles
to article directories (which is becoming less and less effective), start looking for high-profile, popular websites and blogs within
your market where you can contribute your content. And continually look for ways that you can re-purpose and re-format your content to
multiply your traffic and exposure.
