  • http://www.digitalbluemarketing.com Alex

Respect! I love how you demonstrated the lesson of getting out of your comfort zone by walking the talk and taking action on what you preach right before our very eyes!

  • http://www.arizonainternetmarketing.org Brett

It was great to finally see you and I agree with your message. Growth can only happen when we are constantly learning and taking risks that develop new capabilities and open new revenue channels.

Doing live video is one of the hardest things I’ve done so I completely understand why you’ve been reluctant to try. I think you were a natural on video so keep it up! It will completely change the connection you have with your audience.

    Hey Kim,

Great job with your first video! You come across as natural and sincere. Looking forward to more of your videos.

It’s also out of my comfort zone to put my face on video, but I’ll be doing it very soon.

Anyway, just wanted to give you some encouragement to keep on doing what your doing.

    Kim
Your video was great. You are a beautiful woman!
Thanks for bringing up something that is so important in life as well as in business. Difficult but important!
You asked us to give an example of stepping out of our comfort zone. It may not seem like much but today instead of buying another product or searching through the ones I have, I actually decided that I know enough to write my own copy for my emails and just go ahead and start
my webpages. I truly believe that was the one issue holding me back.

    Thanks for all you do.

    Connie

    Hi Kim,

Definitely great info.. I have yet to make even a screen recording video.

    Good job.

Thanks Kim. That’s something I’m now working on. Videos are something I try to get away from. But I see how important they are. Thanks for being an example.

    Hi Kim:

This is powerful advise and right on target!

I have recently placed one-on-one training on my list of items to build my business. This is definitely out of my “comfort zone” but I know it will explode my profits!

Thank you for all you do for us and our overall business’ model!

    Your friend,

    Tony,

  • http://www.speedyincomesystems.com Joy Packard

    Hi Kim,
Great video! Thanks for the great advice! That’s definitely true all you say about getting out of our comfort zones. I have done that myself by learning all the stuff it takes to make a squeeze page, host it, FTP, etc. It does get easier as we go along and we have to realize we will never get where we need to be if we don’t take the first steps of action!

  • Shiv

Great video! But for a woman, I think there are more considerations to going live–judgment is so much on looks for a woman–especially on body size.

I think if a woman was frankly unattractive or Lord forbid, fat, it would have a more detrimental than positive effect.

I think men can get away with it far easier and their looks have less bearing on their credibility.

  • http://www.enrollmoremembers.com John Corona

Your video couldn’t have come at a better time – thanks so much. This is the very day I start my article marketing, I’ve put it off for way too long. How can I not do it now??

Kim, keep those videos coming! I’m surprised you never took up acting in school because of your strong presence. I’ll just leave it at that….oh! man! you rock!

    Cheers,

    JC

Hey Kim, you are very brave and at the same time inspiring. Last year i bought a Flip camera..It is still in the box…Even though i know that video would help my business..i get frozen everytime i think about making one. For one thing, it seems overwhelming..i.e., how do i do all of the techi stuff..where and how to host it..how to create a link for it and embed it..etc..etc..therefore i just sit and think about it..sorry to ramble. But i am already in overload and overwhelm just learning all of the other skills necessary to get an online business set uo, create products, get JV’s, get traffic, improve conversions…you know what i am talking about because you have obviously been there.

Thanks for stepping out of your zone..

    Kim,

Your video has perfect timing for me. I’m scheduled to interview a successful marketer this afternoon and plan on turning it into a down loadable audio. I feel nervousness that must be similar to what you felt doing your video.

However, like you said, getting out of your comfort zone is a way to increase your skills and profits.

    Best wishes,

    Hi Kim,

Great stuff as usual. Here’s a question for you:

How would you approach this “personal” touch when working in niche markets using a pen name? Many marketers don’t want to put their own face on the business they create, simply because they don’t want personal association with it for whatever reason.

    Any ideas?

    Kind regards,

    Nick

  • http://www.ticketstoconcert.net Bruce

Good message Kim….I have to tell you, you have a terrific voice for radio and video broadcasts as well. Its so distinctive. I know you don’t do videos with ‘face time’ like this, but didn’t you do one a long while ago? …seems I remember one from last year.

  • http://morganmarketingonline.com Jan Morgan

    Kim,
Thanks for the video and getting out of your comfort zone, nice to attach a real person with the powerful training you always bring to the table.

Those “little hurdles” to take your business to the next level are real stumbling blocks that we all are quilty of and for some reason we put them directly in our own way. It really makes no sense. So getting out of the comfort zone and getting out of your own way is HUGE. Seeing yourself from a different perspective is great for personal growth. Great info that entrepreneurs need to examine and realize the why behind the “stuck”.

Getting out of your own way leads to progress. Even if you suck at it at first, we are all our own worst critics and you never get better until you do whats in the way and practice and re-examine and listen to feedback and move on.

Plus experiencing self awareness, personal empowerment and unstoppable momentum makes us better, leads to continually stepping up to a new level, which leads to new opportunities etc…. It’s a good feeling. Just like NIKES great slogan “just do it”

Speaking in front of a audience was my biggest fear ever until I got some powerful training that forced me to watch myself on video. That was VERY painful. But seeing what other people saw and experiencing what they experienced was a real eye opener and helped me tremendously become much more effective.

Great video on forcing yourself out of the box. Let the momentum begin and make it a great day!
    Cheers, Jan

  • John Boy

    Superb!

    Kim,

You present yourself in quite a professional manner and appear very calm and confident.

Very polished for you’ve managed to develop a speech pattern that is not full of pregnant pauses that are filled with “ah”s or “um”s.

    Excellent.

Not certain of your age but, I might take a bet that you were NOT a party animal in school pounding down beer and other stuff :)for you seem to have a brain that works pretty darned well!

To improve I would suggest something to keep your hair in place so you wouldn’t have to arrange it during the video.
Also, for me, the sound was very low volume.

Good on Yah! I think you’d be a good replacement for
Barbara WahWah :P or Katie Curic

    Wow,absolutely awesome!!

  • http://www.ebizbasics.com Alan M

    Kim,

Great video..really. One of the things that this personalized video concept does is bring out the “true colors” of one’s personality. Now, that may not always be the best thing for everyone because there are those who are not genuine and whose goal is to NOT provide value. I think that comes through in a video.

BUT, in your case and as is true with many, when you are genuine and your goal is to give back and provide real value, this DOES come through in the video ..as it does with the one you created here.

I too am getting ready to do a series of launches including this approach and while I speak in front of people all the time, for some reason, being in front of a camera doesn’t feel as natural to me.

I will move forward as you suggest.

Thanks as always for your great content!

    Hi Kim

It`s great to finally see the person behind “the voice” and you are gorgeous.

Video makes the interaction personal so it must have been terrifying to place yourself “out there” but you did it.

I wouldn`t expect any less from you.

  • http://www.thegreatestdreamvacations.com/ Steve Schulman

Your advice goes way beyond business. And isn’t it interesting that when we do something out of our comfort zone (and keep on doing it) then after awhile we often don’t even give doing it a second thought because by then it’s become familiar?

Who knows where it can lead if we make it a goal to move out of our comfort zone every day? Sounds like an adventure to me.

After watching this video I committed to doing at least one thing today that I’ve been putting off.

    Thanks for the inspiration.

  • http://.professorim.com Patricia

    Hi Kim,

You really hit the mark for me with this one. Venturing outside of my comfort zone is an ongoing battle I have with myself. It seems I live outside the box. As my business grows, I constantly go where “no man (or woman) has ever gone before”. It sure makes it exciting–but I do get tired of living on the edge.

Thanks for the encouragement. I will think about what you said about what it takes to keep a business growing.

Hi kim, you are a beautiful and intelligent woman, and I follow your videos. I love hearing from you because what you teach is unique and is filled with great content of information.
People follow leaders who create value in their lives and we follow you because it teaches us to create wealth and value in our lives and do it directly in person.
Many write and try to sell courses automatically, but what really makes them better conversions is when relationships are established and taught as you do, many people here will continue to inspire us has done great things by following your advice.
Kim you are my mentor and I am very happy that you are. Continues to mentor many people and continues to inspire people to create wealth, value and great things in their lives.
Thank you so much for your friendship time and councils.

Get out of your comfort zone…I couldn’t agree more. That is, of course, if you want some growth in yourself / your business. Naturally we avoid it because, er, it’s uncomfortable. Captain Obvious to the rescue.

Getting out of my comfort zone would include:
    - not checking my email inbox
    - finishing an idea that I think is turning out to be stupid
    - creating more content that takes time and the results are unknown

Thanks Kim…nice way to get us thinking!

    Oliver

Tru this comment I wanted to thank you for some GOOD advice and information – I am following your up to date instructions how to build traffic –24 untapped traffic sources– and it is absolutely true what you say – the initial idea of the www and internet was sharing knowledge and interests … not just ” it’s all about the money : the rest is conversation ” Of course we need to generate money but it is not just that … work to live but DON’T live to work ! I have met just very few online marketeers who ”care” and are open to dialogue with their customers … not just friggin virtual autoresponders and NOT being available ( even a little bit ) only very few ! Keep your mind open as you do just now Kim ! Maybe I can do something for you someday to ! I invite you and other readers to listen to some music I make/composed on myspace.com/boogieworkers and let me know your thoughts – fa441334@skynet.be would be cool ! And once more = way to go Kim ! Warm regards from Walter/Belgium

    Hi Kim.
Well done – make you wonder why the hell you didn’t do it long ago.
    YOU ARE ALREADY A BRAND!!!
If you made a quick list of the bigger marketers that you “trust” – there is a very high chance that the all do live videos.
I can think of a few easily. Chris – Travis – and now you!
Good to see you joining them.

    Hello Kim,

I just caught wind..no pun intended thru Chris Farrell about you…First a few comments as you suggested.. For me, I have doing face to face guidance, training, educating for alot of years and sometimes to groups of thousands..you are a natural doing videos. You are very photogenic, you have a gorgeous smile if you dont mind me saying so. What seemed to work for me especially when I first started out was to semi-focus on a few people. Maybe friends, family that were in the audience. gave me a comfort factor when I was talking. You did good….keep it up..
    Take..

    Hey Kim,
Wow! The great thing about your video is that you weren’t a bunch of hype. You were like a sister helping me add something valuable to my lifestyle and business. Thanks for the advice.

Normally I hate videos because they take too much time to watch. I would rather read about the information in half the time. Actually I appreciate the sites that give you an option to get the info in writing via a pdf download or online.

I have come to the place that, quite often, I will skip an offering because the only way to get the information is by video, and a video giving me no option to speed ahead to the end. I wonder what percentage of people out there are like me. Videos are loved by the search engines, but I wonder how many are lost because of them.

Keep up the good work, Kim.
    Sharon

    Hi Kim,

Triple applause for your example of stepping outside of your comfort zone! I have yet to do that as it feels so comfy here at home.

Your voice is definitely an asset and now, your face together with your skills and talents will serve others as well as your business. In particular, you convey a sincerity beyond many other marketers!

Outside my comfort zone: leaving a reply to you and making amends with the clutter in my environment

    Thanks!
    Aloha,
    Lori

    Thank you.
    Aloha,

Hi Kim, great job! AS always your message is the best. I lived a while with the motto “If I think I can’t then I must.” My life was much more powerful at that time. then I stopped. Thanks for the reminder to get back in the habit of acting outside my comfort zone every day not just now and then.

  • http://www.chrisfarrell-online.com Chris Farrell

    Reason 687 why i love Kim Roach….

    …coz she takes risks!

Kim – as you know – I have long been a fan of your ethical way of doing marketing.

Great to see you step out from behind the camera too – you look like Demi Moore’s younger sister….

I am a big fan of your teaching here.

The great Jim Rohn- who passed away earlier this year – said that ‘for things to change – we must change’.

This is very true when creating a web business.

Everyone’s life right now – is a direct correlation of the effort we have put in up to this point. If we want things to improve in the future – that means doing things differently from now on.

For things to change – we must change.

If we do what we’ve always done – we’ll get what we’ve always got.

So all power to you KR for practicing what you preach.

It’s kinda scary isn’t it — but man – doesn’t it make you feel ALIVE!!!!

    Kim Roach for President.

    Hi Kim,
What a great video ! A wonderful idea to remind people how essential it is to get out of their comfort zone. : ) This is really hard for some of us to do sometimes ……
Thanks again for taking the time to make this video for us.

    Hi Kim,

My business partner Steve King and I have now bought camtasia and are playing with it a bit. Steve has done a couple videos and posted them on his website for practice and to get response from friends around the world about how he does. He’s got that Brit accent that we Americans love, and so far the response has been great. He also did an audio recording for our sales site, but are now going to redo it and replace it with a video.

We are still getting things ready for our launch. While the sales page is basically ready, it takes a lot of time to get all the affiliate tools and “how to” material ready. We plan to do “how to” videos in the affiliate area so even a novice will know exactly how to promote products. We also intend to give these to people who buy our product called “Your Affiliate Team” which is basically a one stop site template where all of your affiliate products and tools are at one site, encouraging your affiliates to promote more of your products. So the affiliate link at the bottom of your sales page links to the specific page, but they have direct access to all of your affiliated products at the same time.

Starting to sound like and advert here, but we do not have the finished product back from the programmers yet. Once we get it and are satisfied with it, I’ll drop you a copy to review for us, if you would.

Something we are considering doing with our sets of videos (something you may wish to do with all of yours) is to do “one cost membership training” Wereby you get people to opt-in, make a one time payment and distribute a series of videos on a particular topic through your AWeber account over a period of time (1 yr).

We are anticipating that videos will bring in new customers and therefore money and notoriety.

Thanks for the video Kim. Ya dun good!
    Jay

  • Ivelin

    Heey Kim,

nice to see you lol :) congrats for stepping out of your comfort zone!

It’s great to see the person behind the voice. It’s a whole different experience video vs. audio only.. It’s like talking with someone live instead of on the phone.
