Howdy…Howdy…

I’m working on my first cup of coffee this morning and I’ve
decided to use today’s post to have a bit of fun…

People oftentimes forget that business should be fun.

So much of what’s written online today lacks any sense of personal
connection. Most people are simply afraid to REALLY be themselves.

So instead they try to act ‘professional’ and all of they’re writing
comes out dry and dull.

Or, even worse, they try to be like someone else – and they end up
looking like a bad Elvis impersonator… The ‘bloated’ version with a
lousy voice.

Not pretty!

So let’s put away the Elvis costume and bring out the
real McCoy! Raw…Rebel…Quirky…and 100% human.

Your readers will be attracted to your weird quirks because they
make you human.

When your flawed your real.

Business is about HUMAN connection. And the only way to truly
connect is by being completely you.

Your emails, your videos, your articles, every piece of content
should be branded with your personality.

Way too many people online are presenting some watered-down
version of themselves. Afraid to be their quirky natural self.

But that’s what people really want… the HUMAN connection.

So in order to prove that I’m not a robot that stays locked
in a marketing laboratory all day, I’ve decided to share 24
of my own quirks, habits, and closely guarded secrets…

1. I have a HUGE Spanish family with over 30 crazy cousins. If you’ve ever seen
the movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding” you’ll get an idea of what our family get
togethers are like. Loud. Crazy. And I wouldn’t change it for a second.

2. I LOVE the smell of new shoes and new books. I couldn’t work in a shoestore
or a bookstore cause I would just stand around all day smelling the merchandise.

3. I like to break all the rules of business. I like to look at what everyone
else is doing and then do the opposite. I’d like to think it’s part of what
makes me stand out from the rest. Doing your own thing and doing it well.

4. I take a notepad and pen everywhere I go. In the car, by my nightstand, at
my desk. You never know when a great idea is going to strike. I’ve filled
countless notebooks with ideas, business models, marketing plans, and to-do
lists to last me an entire lifetime.

5. I loved playing in boxes when I was little. In addition to building massive
forts and pillow fights.

6. I think I’m the only marketer left who answers all of my own email. And I find
it incredibly strange that other people outsource that task to some stranger in
the Phillipines. Really? If someone takes the time to email you surely we have
enough heart and self-respect to send a personal reply. In fact, many people
are surprised when I do reply. Or surprised that I answer the phone when they
call. Isn’t that wild? That people are surprised when they find out that you
actually care!

7. Fear is my greatest friend. Whenever I’m afraid to do something new – afraid
to go outside of my comfort zone – I know I’m about to breakthrough to a new
level in my life or in my business. The biggest growth in your business ALWAYS
lies OUTSIDE your comfort zone.

So the next time your afraid to do something – realize that something BIG is
about to happen in your life – if you fight through the fear and do the thing anyway.

8. I have two crooked toes. When I was young I used to cross them over
the other and walk around the house. Yes – I was strange from a very
early age ;)

9. I feel happiest when I’m living in my passion. And my two biggest passions
are business and running.

10. I went to three different colleges before I figured out it wasn’t for me :)

11. If I could get rid of just one thing – it would be the need for sleep. I’m
always wishing for more hours in the day.

12. I’m a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl. You know how most girls have a walk-in
closet full of clothes. Well, mine’s a tiny closet that’s half full.

13. I still drive the same car from high school. I call her ‘Ol Betsy. And plan on
driving her until she breaks down in the middle of the road.

14. I like the small town life. I’ve lived in Elizabethtown, Kentucky my whole
life. Can’t imagine living in a big city. But…I do love to explore new places.
I’ve caught a bit of the traveling bug lately and planning on doing a few
mini-vacations this summer.

15. My favorite thing about running races is the free t-shirt. In fact, I need
to run some races this summer so I can refill my closet.

16. I guard my emotions like a hawk. It’s incredibly hard to break through my
shell. But I’m eternally grateful to the people who have.

17. I’m 25. But all of my friends are in their 40’s or 50’s. I have HUGE respect
for older people and see no point in hanging out with people my own age.

18. It always confuses me when I go on a plane and they announce that your
seat can be used as a flotation device. Excuse me! I think I’d prefer a
parachute. That would be a bit more helpful right?

19. A part of me wishes I had gone through the traditional college experience.
Another part of me thinks it’s a big waste of money.

20. I have the sweetest dog in the world. She’s a labrador retriever named
Mattie and she constantly reminds me of the real meaning of unconditional love.

21. I have THE most amazing parents on earth. They have been my biggest fans since day 1.

22. Unlike most kids, growing up I thought my parents knew everything!
It wasn’t until much later in life – when I had much harder questions – that
I realized they didn’t have all the answers.

23. I watched the ‘Truman Show’ when I was 12 and I was paranoid for a month
thinking that my life was being recorded for national television. But then I
decided my life was way too boring and I stopped worrying.

24. I think ‘Being Yourself’ is one of the biggest keys to business and life.

Okay… I’m headed back to the marketing lab – all this human stuff is wearing me out.

But I’d love to hear a bit about you! Feel free to post in the comments with your own quirks :)

As 2010 comes to a close, I’ve been spending more and more time planning for 2011.

This has been an amazing year. But like any marketing addict, I’m hungry for
more!

Here’s a quick sneak peek behind the curtain at what I have planned for 2011…

In 2011 we’re going to be focusing more than ever on our 3 core competencies:

List Building
Relationship Building
Over-Delivering

As you probably already know – your subscriber list is the lifeblood of
your business. In our business we focus ALL of our marketing efforts on
building our list of subscribers, building a relationship with our subscribers,
and providing massive value.

And the same will be true in 2011 – but on a much higher level.

We’ve done a few things this year that have put our list building efforts into
overdrive and in 2011 we’re going to be diving head first into expanding those
strategies.

The most important of these has been our 100% Instant Commission Affiliate Program.

We recently released a product called the Traffic Dashboard and so far we’ve sold over 1600+ copies of this product. I did an internal launch to my own list which generated 436 sales but the rest of the sales have been generated completely by our affiliates.

In fact, we’ve had 853 people sign up for the Traffic Dashboard affiliate program.

Of those -103 affiliates are actively making sales.

And I’ll be working hard to activate the rest of them :)

However, you might be wondering how we got so many affiliates on board.

Well, the surprising thing is that I’ve done VERY little active recruiting on my side.

Most of it has been incredibly organic – which surprised even me.

But…

There are certainly a few key ingredients that factored into the equation.

First, my sales system (Rapid Action Profits) is setup to immediately turn customers into affiliates.

So as soon as someone purchases they are immediately invited to join the 100% commission affiliate program.

This alone turns many of our customers into affiliates.

Second, the product MASSIVELY over delivers.

My goal with the Traffic Dashboard was to create a ‘Wow! experience’ for every customer who purchased.

And because of that – many of our customers decided to start actively promoting the product. They saw how much value was packed into this product and decided that it would be of huge value to their list as well.

That’s how we got Maria Gudelis on board.

One day I woke up, checked my stats, and saw that Maria Gudelis was promoting our product. I just about fell out of my chair!

But she had purchased the product – saw the amazing value – and then recommended it to her subscribers.

Then her subscribers start signing up as affiliates and the snowball continues…

That’s the power of having a world-class product.

The Traffic Dashboard has now been promoted by Lee McIntyre, Maria Gudelis, Travis Sago, Nicole Dean, Sean Donahoe, Jason Parker, Shannon Herod, Ben Brooks, Gary McCaffrey, Jit Uppal, Richard Legg and many others.

Talk about social proof!

It’s not too hard to go out and start recruiting new affiliates when you’ve
got those kind of names on board.

Plus, our sales funnel converts like crazy…

Affiliates are getting conversions between 4-8%.

That’s the other big key to recruiting affiliates. You’ve got to have a high-converting sales process in place. And this video sales letter did amazingly well right out of the gate.

Affiliates don’t want to be your guinea pig. You MUST test your sales letter BEFORE you start bringing affiliates on board.

You can do this by promoting to your own internal list, solo ads, or some other form of paid advertising.

Now, you might be wondering why we’re giving away 100% commissions.

Lots of people get confused and they think you’re giving away the farm.

But nothing could be further from the truth!

As long as you’re building a proper sales funnel, 100% commissions is one
of the most powerful things you can do for your business.

I wish I’d done it a LOT sooner.

The front-end product (like Traffic Dashboard) acts as a lead generator.

So now you have affiliates sending you massive amounts of traffic and
building your list for you.

Since opening up our affiliate program we’ve been averaging 200 new subscribers per day.

Plus, we are funneling those customers into our membership site on the backend.

And that profit goes to us.

You create a ‘Wow! Experience’ on the front-end and then funnel those customers into higher levels of value and price.

Because it’s MUCH MUCH easier to sell someone a second, third, and fourth product than it is to sell them that first product.

So your front-end acts as a lead generator. And if you set it up correctly – affiliates will send you all the traffic you could ever want.

We’ve made it a massive win-win for our affiliates. They get 100% instant commissions sent straight to their PayPal account. That means no waiting around weeks on end to get paid. Our affiliates are paid instantly every time they make a sale.

Plus, we also have lots of cool prizes for our affiliates. So regardless of whether you sell 10 copies or 100, you qualify for a cool prize :)

Our goal is to provide as much value as humanly possible to our affiliates.

Because when you treat your affiliates right – they’ll send you traffic month
end and month out.

Plus, we also have some other cool goodies lined up for our affiliates in 2011.
More on that to come :)

But first, let me tell you about the other traffic strategies I’m going to be
focusing on in 2011…

Solo Ads – I’ve been doing some solo ads in 2010 with great success and I plan on doing even more in 2011. As you probably know, I’m not a huge fan of paid traffic sources – but solo ads are an exception ;)

They’re one of the least risky paid advertising options available online – allowing you to advertise in someone else’s newsletter. You’re able to put your offer directly in front of your target audience.

There are hundreds of list owners online who will allow you to advertise in their newsletters and get your message in front of thousands of people.

Just to give you a quick example, I paid $600 for a solo ad a couple months back that went out to over 60,000 subscribers.

From that promotion, I received 890 laser-targeted visitors, 483 new subscribers and 23 new customers.

So for me, it was well worth the investment.

Not only did this create a cash windfall up front – but it will also lead to profits
on the backend as well because I now have 483 new subscribers that I can start building a relationship with.

Strategic Rocket Deals – I go into these in-depth in the Traffic Dashboard but it’s basically an exchange of virtual real estate. So, for example, I might put someone else’s offer in my autoresponder and within my membership site in exchange for them putting my offer on their thank-you page.

It’s that simple. You’re just exchanging untapped virtual real estate within your business. This could be thank-you pages, download pages, member’s area, bonus pages, the footer of your emails, follow-up emails, log-out pages, banner space, etc…

Put together 3-5 rocket deals together with the right strategic partners and
you can easily put your traffic on autopilot, sending 1,000-5,000 visitors
to your website every week.

So that’s one of the main strategies I’m going to be using in 2011… setting
up strategic rocket deals – and exchanging virtual real estate with like-minded
marketers who are focused on providing massive value to their community.

Webinars – Webinars are one of THE most underrated business tools online right now.

You could build your entire business using just webinars.

You simply approach people about doing a special LIVE webinar for their subscribers.

This is a completely different approach than what MOST people are doing online.

Most marketers are simply asking people to promote their product launch.

But with this strategy you’re actually offering to provide VALUE to their subscribers. You could approach them in the manner of “Hey, how about we do something special for your subscribers. I’ve been doing a lot of webinarswith other marketers lately and we’ve been getting a ton of really greatfeedback.I’d love to do a special call with your subscribers where I talk about my top 5 traffic sources – nothing held back. The call itself is packed with high-quality content. If you’d like we could even setup a webinar swap and I’ll introduce you to my subscribers as well. Let me know what you think! – Kim”

This sort of approach allows you to instantly stand out from the rest of the
crowd.

On that webinar you offer a TON of exceptional content – nothing held back.
And then at the end – you just do a short 5-10 minute promo.

Basically saying you know if you’d like more content like this, you can
check out our membership site at www.mysite.com.

Add a few time-limited bonuses to your offer and you should be set to make a
really nice windfall of sales.

Plus, the cool thing about webinars is they have INSANE conversion rates.

It’s not unusual at all to get a conversion rate of 20-30% on a webinar.

It’s a huge win-win for both parties involved.

I think webinars are one of the most underused strategies online today.
And if you focused exclusively on just doing webinar swaps this year – I
guarantee it would be one of your biggest years ever.

And it’s certainly one that I’m going to be focusing on strongly in 2011.

Free WSO’s – As you guys probably already know I’m a huge fan of using free
WSO’s on the Warrior Forum to build my list. I’ll be doing this even more
in 2011. My goal is to do at least one WSO every 2 weeks.

The other main traffic strategies I’ll be focusing on in 2011 include
ad swaps (on a limited basis), integration marketing, content syndication,
and forum marketing (which mainly just means providing a TON of value on
my favorite forums ;)

But the main one’s I’ll be focusing on in 2010 include:

What I’m going to be doing DIFFERENTLY in 2011:

I learned a TON in 2010 and it’s been an amazing year but there are quite a
few things that I plan on doing differently in 2011.

Here’s a quick sneak peek at what’s coming…

More Community inside the Super Affiliate Club – Launching a membership site has been one of the best things I’ve done in our business. As said by David Frey, “If you don’t have continuity you don’t have a business.”

That’s how important continuity is.

It gives you a consistent, stable income month in and month out without having to worry about launching new products all the time.

And like everything we do, we provide a TON of value inside the Super Affiliate Club.

However, there are also a LOT of things that I think we could do better.

Creating an active community is at the top of that list.

If you look at membership sites like ‘Wealthy Affiliate’ or Earn1KaDay – one of the biggest draws is the active community they have there. You’re not just a member, but you belong to a much larger community of business friends.

And that’s what I want to create for the Super Affiliate Club.

I’m currently shifting the Super Affiliate Club over to a new platform and we have lots of exciting plans for 2011. In fact, that’s my biggest goal for 2011. To make the Super Affiliate Club the premier destination as one of the best marketing communities online.

We have lots of exciting plans for 2011 – contests, bootcamps, more one-on-one Skype calls, monthly prizes, and more…

More Products…

This is something I’ve really slacked on. In general, I’ve only released one or two products per year. Which is crazy!!

But… I’m getting much faster at product creation now so my goal for 2011 is to release 4-6 products during the year.

Most of these will be 100% instant commission products that I will release internally first to my own subscribers and then actively recruit affiliates to promote.

Each of these will act as a front-end lead generator – consistently putting people into our sales funnel on a daily basis.

And with 100% instant commissions, it’s not too hard to get affiliates excited about promoting :)

Especially when you have a top-notch product, killer conversions, and cool prizes to boot!

Systemize & Streamline – One of the main things we’re gearing up for in 2011 is systemizing the business.

In fact, in a recent video I talked about exactly how we’re creating systems and processes in our business.

We’ve brought a couple of amazing team members on board over the past month who are helping me to scale the business.

Creating systems in your business gives you more time to be creative and to
focus your efforts on the tasks that you are best at.

If you’d like to learn more about how to systemize your business, you’ll definitely want to watch this video:

http://www.buzzblogger.com/behind-the-scenes/

As entrepreneurs, it’s hard to let tasks go where they are no longer under your control but once you’ve reached a certain scale in your business you simply cannot do everything yourself.

More Emails – One of the biggest mistakes I’ve made this year is not sending enough emails to our subscribers.

Yes, we do have a community of raving fans because whenever I do send out an email it’s ALWAYS packed with value.

But – because of lack of time – I simply haven’t emailed enough.

And we’ve left thousands of dollars on the table because of it.

So one of the main things I’m putting into place right now is a follow-up series for prospects, customers, and affiliates.

And my goal for 2011 is to email our subscribers at least 3-4 times per week.

As you might imagine, this will be a big chunk of my day ;)

But it should be a big chunk of your day as well because your list is literally the lifeblood of your business.

You can double, triple, and even quadruple your response rates simply by creating a follow-up series of emails that provides amazing value, entertains, and points people back to your sales letter.

At the end of the day, it’s all about relationships!

We’ve done a lot of interesting things in 2010 but one of the most important
things I’ve think we’ve done is to focus on over delivering, providing insane
value, and building relationships with our community.

I think we’re experiencing what Gary Vaynerchuk calls the “Humanization of business.”

So many people come online and try to build a business where they hide behind their computer. They forget that business is really all about the people, whether it be your subscribers, customers, affiliates, team members, or business partners.

Business – whether it’s online or offline is ALL about the people.

And even if you make some money in the short-term – if you’re not providing incredible VALUE to people – then you’ve lost in the long-term.

For me business is not about how many upsells can I add and how can I squeeze as much profit as humanly possible out of every subscriber.

For me it’s about how have we contributed to the lives of our customers and to the lives of our subscribers. What sort of impact are we making in the lives of our customers, subscribers, and affiliates?

Cause I DO NOT want a yacht, a mansion, or some crazy sports car.

That’s just not me.

For me, business is about providing the most value as humanly possible to your customers and to your affiliates.

Do that – and you’ve won the game.

True connections come from being real and authentic.

If you want to have your best year ever in 2011…

Shift your focus from:

How can I make more money?

to

How can I provide more value?

And as an industry as a whole – we haven’t even touched the surface on the kind of value and community that we can build and offer to our customers.

So here’s to 2011…

I hope you enjoyed this quick sneak peek behind the curtain and I’d LOVE to hear what you have planned for 2011 so please do comment below.

I’ve recently fallen in love…

You see, over the past few weeks I’ve been comparing a number of different shopping cart solutions… InfusionSoft, NanaCast, 1ShoppingCart, Clickbank, etc, etc, etc…

For anyone who has compared different shopping cart solutions, one of the first things you realize is that there are pros and cons to EVERY solution. For example, InfusionSoft (one of the premier shopping cart solutions available online) is EXTREMELY flexible and feature-packed but at the same time it’s VERY technically involved. You pretty much have to hire a programming team to get it up and running to fit your specific needs.

Others, like Clickbank, are very plug-and-play solutions but less flexible. I ran my first product entirely on Clickbank. And although it is a really great plug-and-play solution that you can get up and running very quickly – I’ve found that it also has it’s limitations. (Nearly 9% processing fee, lack of control over affiliate management, commission hijacking, etc… )

At one point I was even making pro-con lists. That’s when you really know you’ve gone crazy ;)

But then I stumbled upon a solution that made by heart skip a beat. My cheeks turned rosy. My eyes went all dreamy-like…

And that’s when I knew…

I’d fallen in love.

And it’s name…

Is Rapid Action Profits.

RAP (a.k.a. Rapid Action Profits) was like the knight in shining armor who came to deliver all the features I was looking for in one shiny package.

It’s used by some of the top names in the industry – including Jason Fladlien, Terry Dean, Willie Crawford, and Sean Donahoe.

Now – like I said. NONE of these platforms are perfect.

But Rapid Action Profits comes pretty darn close ;)

First off, RAP has many of the same plug-and-play features of Clickbank but with a TON more flexibility and features.

Here’s a quick overview…

Instant Commissions Paid through PayPal – Affiliates get paid instantly through PayPal. This can be a HUGE incentive for affiliates because they don’t have to wait weeks to get paid.

Plus, because affiliates receive their commission directly from the customer you don’t have to cut affiliate checks, do mass pays, or even send out 1099’s at the end of the year. So you have an incredible amount of control over HOW you manage your affiliate program but at the same time you don’t have to worry about the hassles of paying affiliates, cutting checks, taxes, etc…

Easy Affiliate Management – Affiliates can get signed up quickly and easily using their PayPal email. Inside the affiliate area they have full access to their stats, tracking, and plug-and-play affiliate tools.

Custom Commission Rates – You can set custom commission rates for your affiliate and JV Partners. This allows you to give a higher percentage to your top JV’s and super affiliates.

Up to 100% Commissions – You can pay up to 100% commissions to
your JV’s and affiliates. Another HUGE incentive for attracting affiliates. You can use this to create a front-end lead machine that then funnels people into your backend.

2nd-Teir Commissions – Incentivize your affiliates even further with 2nd Teir Commissions – allowing them to earn a percentage of the profits from affiliates they refer into your program.

One-Time Offers, Upsells, & Downsells – Easily build out a complete
sales funnel with related offers while your customers are in the buying mood. (Quick Note: These aren’t one-click upsells because PayPal does not currently have true one-click upsells where the customer is automatically charged for the first sale and then moves on to customize their order. With RAP, they customize their order first and then complete the sale at the end of the process.)

Split-Testing – RAP has built-in split testing that allows you to test different versions of your sales page.

Integrates directly with your autoresponder. Plus, you also have the ability to broadcast email to “front-end” customers and OTO customers separately.

Affiliate Protection – All of the affiliates receive a cloaked link in order to protect their commissions. They’ve also made it impossible for customers to purchase through their own link – again protecting the affiliate’s commissions. You no longer have to worry about commission theft like you do on Clickbank.

1-Year Cookie. Once you’re affiliate refers a visitor to your website, they get credit on all sales made by that person for up to 1-year. Also, if you want to help ensure against the customer deleting their cookies, you can capture the affiliate nickname to your autoresponder list (from the squeeze page) so that the affiliate gets cookied again, every time you send out a mailing to that list.

Affiliate gets credit for ALL of the products within your affiliate center. So if a customer buys another product, the affiliate will get credit for that sale as well. This allows affiliates to get credit on the backend. (However, keep in mind that you can also set it up to where the affiliate only gets cookied for the particular product being promoted by the affiliate. The RAP Platform allows you to choose either option.)

However, you have full control over the commission level of each product – whether it be the main front-end product, upsell, downsell, etc…

Add-Ons. Plus, there are a TON of add-ons available for adding a number of different features – including a Kunaki Add On, PayPal Mass Payment (If you want to pay affiliates yourself.), Membership Plus, Cookie Jar Add On (Allows your affiliates to send traffic to any page on your website and still get credit for the sale.) Dime Sales, and many others.

Price: In comparison to other sales platforms, RAP is extremely affordable with just a one-time payment of $197. Can be installed on unlimited domains.

The downsides of Rapid Action Profits include:

Only accepts PayPal payments.

Affiliates are responsible for refunding customers.

Overall though, RAP is one of the most flexible and robust sales systems of it’s kind on the market.

Plus, we now have the added benefit of RapBank.com. A digital product marketplace similar to that of Clickbank (but exclusively created for products with instant commissions). Of course, RapBank is smaller than Clickbank but it’s growing extremely quickly.

RapBank.com allows you to track any and all of your RAP Bank listed products, all from one location. They also give you exposure to 7,000+ affiliates. Plus, with RapBank you get an extra layer of insightful tracking and statistics on all of your products and your affiliates.

In closing, the RAP platform has almost all of the advanced features of other popular platforms for a fraction of the price.

And I am officially…

In love.

2010 has arrived and I am super excited about the year ahead. But first, I want to take one final look at 2009.

2009 was an amazing year for me and I’ve learned quite a few golden nuggets that have literally transformed my business. In this article, I would like to share those with you.

The first, and certainly one of the most impactful lessons I’ve learned this year is the power of video sales letters.

Video sales letters have increased my conversion rate from 2% to 10%.

Now, I want you to imagine for a moment what it would mean for your business if you were able to generate double-digit conversions.

Personally, as you probably already know, I don’t believe there is a big red easy button online, but this is literally the fastest shortcut I know to creating a high-converting sales process.

The best part is that you don’t have to be a world-class copywriter to create killer video sales letters. In fact, I pretty much stink at traditional sales letters. But, I have found a very effective formula for creating highly-converting video sales letters. So that means that you can do this too. There are no super human abilities required here.

You simply follow the formula and get results that are USUALLY reserved for highly-paid copywriters.

In fact, I have a free webinar that will teach you my exact formula. You can check it out at:

http://www.superaffiliateclub.com/public/Video_Sales_Formula_Webinar.cfm

If you take the information in the video above and actually start implementing it, you will see a HUGE transformation in your business in 2010.

Speed of Implementation

Speaking of implementation, that’s another key that has transformed
my business in 2010…. speed of implementation. You’ve probably heard
before that money likes speed. And it’s true.

Success comes to those who take action.

In business, speed of implementation is the name of the game.

No one is going to give you a perfect business plan or the exact steps that you need to take. This is not like a job where someone tells you exactly what you need to do each day.

You are in charge of your own success.

And that means doing things before you’re comfortable doing them.

That means implementing even when you’re unsure of what the outcome might be.

You’d be surprised how many people fail online because they simply take too long trying to perfect everything.

To achieve success online, you must fail as fast as humanly possible.

Failure is the key to progress.

The faster you fail, the faster you’re going to succeed. Now, it may sound counter-intuitive but it’s true. Especially when building a business.

Think about anything you’ve done in life. Let’s use sports as an example.

Let’s take baseball. When you first start, you fail… A LOT. But that
failure is simply a result and it leads you closer and closer to success.

Unfortunately, our society does not value the power of failure. In school, we’re taught on a daily basis that failure is bad. But in reality, it’s the ONLY way to get to success.

If you don’t take action, nothing happens. You can learn and learn and learn. You can plan out the best marketing strategies in the world. But if you don’t execute… nothing happens.

The faster you get something out there, the faster you’re going to make money.

At the end of the day, the key is speed of implementation.

High-Leverage Activities

The third key to my growth in 2009 has been focusing on high-leverage
activities.

As you probably know, your list of subscribers is one of the most important assets in your business. It’s also one of the biggest leverage points in your business.

You can leverage your list of subscribers at any time to funnel thousands of visitors to the website of your choice.

Unfortunately, I see way too many people online going for the one-off sale and trying to sell first before they get people on their list. BIG NO NO!!

If you want to create a real business online, then you will focus all of
your attention and marketing efforts on sending people to a squeeze page where you can build a list of subscribers.

If you don’t build a list, you’ll be missing out on 95% of your potential
revenue. It’s that simple.

So in my business, I focus on the high-leverage activities that are going to grow my list the fastest.

The high-leverage activities in my business include things like:

Ad Swaps/Autoresponder Swaps
Integration Marketing
Forum Marketing
High-Profile Content Syndication
Interviews/Webinars/Teleseminars/ & Telesummits
Guest Blogging
Creating Pillar Content
Testing for Maximum Conversion

These are the activities that are going to grow my list the fastest.

These are the activities that every time I do them, they always have a huge impact on growing my business. I actually have a piece of paper taped to my desk with all of my high-leverage activities so I can stay zoned in on the most productive tasks.

It’s the 80/20 rule in action, which says that 20% of your efforts
create 80% of your results.

The key to maximizing your results is to focus on the high-leverage
activities in our business that create 80% of your results.

Unfortunately, it’s easy to get lost in the minutiae of running a business.

But if you want to win in the game of business, you must zone in those
high-leverage activities that are going to produce the greatest result.
Otherwise, you’ll simply be spinning your wheels.

If you do just ONE high-leverage activity per day, you are going to create exponential growth in your business this year.

One of the best ways to identify your high-leverage activities is to ask
yourself the question “If I could only work 2 hours per day in my business, what would I do during those 2 hours to grow my business?”

By doing this you will actually force yourself to identify the money-making activities in your business.

The Power of a Low Front-End Offer

The fourth thing I’ve learned this year is the power of a low-end front offer.

By creating a low barrier front-end offer, you will get exponentially more people into your sales funnel. The whole goal of your front-end offer is to get as many people into your sales funnel as possible. You want to find who the “buyers” are on your list.

So you want to reduce all possible friction and create a low-barrier to
entry.

Once they are in your funnel, it’s much easier to sell them follow-up
products of increasing value and price.

But the hardest sell is that first one. So make sure that you have an
irresistible offer.

In fact, I would even suggest that you create a $1-trial, or even a free + shipping and handling offer just so that you can get as many people into your sales funnel as possible.

I would also strongly suggest that you attach your offer into a continuity program because it’s going to make a dramatic difference to your visitor value.

One of the most powerful things you can do in your business is to create a $1 trial or a free + shipping and handling offer. This is going to funnel a HUGE portion of your subscribers into your membership site (which will then pay you on a monthly basis).

So the idea here is to give them MASSIVE value right up front to get them to try out your membership site. The biggest key here is to really provide incredible value. Your “offer” is the key to making this work and convert like crazy. That’s why people practically give away their home study courses and only require you to pay shipping and handling. Because they want you to get a taste of the kind of value they provide and funnel you into their membership site. And if they’re doing their job right, you’ll want to remain a member.

Continuity allows you to get triple the conversion than if you sold the
product right up front. I get about a 10% sales conversion rate on my
$1 trial offer for the Super Affiliate Club. Now, I haven’t tracked
the retention rate yet, but the average membership site gets a 3-month retention rate. Now, of course, I’ll be doing everything I can to increase that, but let’s just use that as our example figure here.

So the monthly cost for the Super Affiliate Club is $39 x 3 months = $117.

Now, imagine for a moment trying to sell a $117 product right up front at a 10% conversion rate. It would be dead hard and nearly impossible. But by creating a $1 trial attached to continuity you’re able to instantly skyrocket your visitor value and your conversion rate. Very very powerful.

Deepen Your Sales Funnel

You can then instantly increase the visitor value once again by expanding your sales funnel through a series of upsells and backend products.

There’s a certain group of people that will ALWAYS want to go to a higher level with you. They WANT to pay you a premium for a higher level of service.

So you MUST create higher and higher levels of value proposition.

If you don’t, they’ll simply find it somewhere else.

You can find a prime example of this on airplanes. Any time you ride in an airplane, you’ll find that “first class” is always full. ALWAYS. Because
there’s always a group of people who want that extra level of value.

Your goal is to focus on creating ONE well-oiled sales funnel. You send
ALL of your traffic to a squeeze page, which then offers them a $1 Trial with Continuity. You then offer them a series of upsells (which offer related products of increasing value). The upsells should essentially be no-brainers that bolt on extra value to the main product. And there will ALWAYS be people who want the higher level of value. So if you don’t offer it to them, you’re simply leaving money on the table.

You should also develop high-end backend products such as a $497 E-Class and a $997 Boxset.

The higher level products should be offered within the first month that
someone signs onto your subscriber list, because that’s when they’re the hottest and most interested in whatever you have to offer.

Mentors

And finally, one of the biggest impacts on my business in 2009 are mentors.

I make it a rule in my business to have a personal coach at all times. Now, keep in mind that this can be very costly. One-on-one coaching generally cost about $1,000 per month. However, it’s going to save you YEARS of trial and error. With a coach, you will achieve your goals exponentially faster. My business started growing by leaps and bounds once I brought a personal coach on board.

A coach provides you with the accountability needed to get things done 10 times faster and they hold your hand every step of the way so that you ALWAYS know exactly what needs to be done next. There’s no second guessing yourself.

Imagine how powerful that would be in your business… having someone who can answer any of your questions and guide you step-by-step to your goal.

Having a mentor has been one of the biggest keys to my success.
First, because of the incredible amount of accountability it provides. And secondly, because I am able to model after someone who is already doing what I want to achieve. Very very powerful.

I hope you enjoyed getting a bit of insight into what I’ve learned in 2009. But I’d really love to hear what you’ve learned in 2009 and what you’re planning for 2010. So please leave your comments below and here’s to an exciting and successful 2010!

Wordpress Automatic Upgrade – As you may already know, Wordpress upgrades their software quite often. However, it can be quite a job to update your Wordpress version every time they come out with an upgrade. Thankfully, this plugin automates all of that, allowing you to update Wordpress with just a few clicks.

Breadcrumb NavXT – Adds a breadcrumb navigation system to your
Wordpress blog.

WP SuperCache – This plugin is an extremely efficient page caching system that will make your site much faster and responsive. This plugin is very useful for handling sudden bursts of traffic coming from social bookmarking sites like Digg, Twitter, and Delicious. WP-Super Cache basically creates static versions of your pages so that they can be served to your visitors without querying the MySQL database.

*** Disqus Comment System – Disqus is truly revolutionizing the blog comment system, allowing you to instantly turn your blog into a social media community. Disqus allows you to create a much more interactive blog community that connects seamlessly with all of the top social media sites online.

Disqus also provides threaded comments, which allows your commenters to engage with other commenters directly, rather than replying in general to all. The threaded replies are indented, making it easy to track sub-discussions. They also allow for video commenting through Seesmic.

DISQUS also encourages the viral promotion of your blog posts. For example, using Facebook Connect, Disqus provides your readers with the option of posting their comment on their wall in Facebook. Readers also have the ability to send their comments to other services (like Friendfeed and Twitter), which again increases the viral promotion of your content.

If you want to build a stronger community on your blog, connects seamlessly with all of the top social media sites online via blog comments, and increase the viral promotion of each of your posts, then Disqus is definitely for you.

MobilePress – With mobile devices becoming more and more popular, you’ll want to make your mobile users as happy as possible. This plugin allows you to do that by turning your Wordpress blog into a mobile friendly blog that’s easy to view on any cell phone, iPhone, or other mobile device.

SEO Slugs – This plugin can help you optimize your blog post URLs for search engines.

Wordpress Duplicate Content Cure – The default Wordpress structure can create lots of duplicate content within your website with the same archives, categories, and built in search pages. Each of these pages feature excerpts of the full posts with the same content repeated over and over again, which dilutes the value of the most important pages on your site, which are the posts and pages. So this plugin allows you to solve that problem by preventing search engines from indexing wordpress pages that contain duplicate content like archives and category pages.

Pretty Link – This plugin allows you to cloak your affiliate links with ease. Using this plugin you no longer have to build redirects by hand or upload a bunch of PHP files to your server. Pretty Link allows you to shrink, track, and share any URL on the internet from your Wordpress site. Pretty Link also allows you to track each hit on your URL and provides a full, detailed report of where the hit came from. This is an excellent plugin for anyone who wants to cloak their affiliate links and track their click stats.
Search Unleashed – Replaces the standard Wordpress Search function
with something that’s much more powerful.

I often get asked what a typical workday looks like for me.

It always kind of surprises me that someone would want a peak into what my typical day looks like, but since it has become a fairly frequently asked question, I’ve decided to share my response here at BuzzBlogger.com.

For starters, I like to wake up early… like around 6:00AM. I’ve always believed that successful people get into the habit of waking up early. I’ve never heard of a successful person that sleeps in ’till noon.

After I get up I do the normal stuff… brush my teeth, wash my face, throw my hair into a pony tail. But there’s ONE thing that I do every morning without fail. And that’s make my bed.

Now, at first you might wonder why I’m such a stickler for making my bed. But I actually have a very good reason for doing so. You see, I believe that how you do ANYTHING is how you do EVERYTHING. Let that sink in for a bit…

If you start your day off by completing one productive task, then the rest of your day follows in that same momentum. You literally begin a FLOW of productivity.

Now, on the other hand, if you start off you’re day by checking email, checking your stats, and goofing around the Internet, then the rest of your day is very likely to follow in that same pattern. And before you know it the day is over and you have little to show for it.

So I complete my very first productive task of the day as soon as I roll out of bed.

Next, I go to the little store for some coffee. (I think everyone deserves to have a treat in the morning to get them rolling) Plus, since I work at home, it’s good just to get out of the house for a bit :)

Then, once I’m back home, I make my way up the stairs to my office, where I go to work completing my biggest, most productive task of the day… the task that’s going to have the most influence on moving my business forward.

By completing your most important task first thing in the morning, you will have accomplished more in the first few hours of your day then most people do in an entire day!

Now, in regards to the rest of my work day, I really don’t have a typical routine that I follow every day.

However, I can tell you what percentage of my time is spent doing specific activities.

Content Creation: 30-40% of my day. Creating great content is one of the biggest keys to succeeding online. It allows you to establish yourself as the go-to person in your marketplace. And when you create truly great content, your followers will be happy to spread your content around the web (on places like Twitter, StumbleUpon, Delicious, etc…) spreading your content virally. So go the extra mile to create what I like to call “tipping point content”.

Relationship Building: 30% of my day. The relationships you build are also critical to your success. No one succeeds alone. We reach our highest goals because of the people we have surrounded ourselves with. So I like to spend at least 30% of my day interacting with other bloggers, building a relationship with my subscribers, helping out other marketers, etc…
The value you put out will come back to you 10 fold!

Marketing: 40% of my day – You’ve probably heard that content is KING, but marketing is queen and no one will see your content if you don’t get out
there in the trenches and start promoting it.

So there’s a typical day in the life :)

I’d love to hear more about what your day looks like so please feel free to leave me some comments.

Cheers!

Got up before the rooster crowed this morning
because I wanted to get this special note to you.

Workin’ on my first cup-O-Joe as we speak :)

I’m sure you’ve heard a lot about the Launch
Tree lately.

Who hasn’t right?

Well, before you buy today you would be Homer
Simpson kind of crazy not to check out my killer bonus.

I’ll let you in on the details in just a bit.

But first…

I want to tell you why I’m going to be the first in line
to buy today.

If you’ve been watching the pre-launch videos for
the Launch Tree, then you’ve seen the kind of
tremendous value they are providing.

Applying just a *few* of the techniques they’ve
been teaching can add thousands of dollars to
your bottom line.

By now you have most likely seen the videos with
Andy Jenkins, Frank Kern, Russel Brunson, Anik Singal
and Mike Filsaime.

Each one of them revealed little tweaks they have
made in their sales process to add massive profits
to the bottom line.

And this was just the free stuff they revealed
during pre-launch.

This product is unlike any I’ve seen before.

This isn’t “the same ol’ stuff repackaged”…

These are golden nuggets that you can take to the bank.

The Launch Tree takes you behind-the-scenes
and gives you the golden nuggets you need to
easily double, triple, or even quadruple your sales.

And that’s why I’ve decided to put together a *CRAZY*
bonus package for for the first 75 customers who order
through my link.

Here’s what I have in store for you…

how my business is run on a daily basis.

You’ll get exclusive access to my favorite ghostwriters,
copywriters, graphic designers, traffic assistants, and
more…

Crazy Bonus #2 – My Personal Help
Be one of the first 50 people to buy through my link
and you will get 60 days of email coaching with me.
You’ll get exclusive access to my private email so
that I can help you one-on-one. So if you ever get
stuck or need some hand-holding we will get on the
phone or Skype… as much as you need.

Crazy Bonus #3 - Mystery Product
For the past few months I’ve been working on a mystery
product behind-the-scenes. I haven’t told anyone about
it. Not even my closest marketing buddies. But if you
buy Launch Tree today, you will get early access!

Crazy Bonus #4 – How to Get all the Big Boys to promote
for you. If you haven’t heard, my last product launch
generated over $65,000 in the first 7 days.

Travis Sago
John Chow
Jeff Czyzewski

… and I’ll show you exactly how I did it.

http://www.buzzblogger.com/best-launch-tree-bonus

Once the 75 packages are gone, that’s it! So you’ll
want to be ready to “lock in” your chance to get this
special bonus.

So make sure you’re on the launch page when it goes live at

To Your Success,

Kim Roach

P.S. If you haven’t heard, Launch Tree is priced ridiculously low… and most people don’t give ANY bonuses for offers in this price range…

But I also know you’re on my list to get the very best. So I’m going to give you the goods on Launch Tree like no one else can.
