But today while I was running I almost had a weak moment.

For a few seconds I actually thought about quitting. I almost started
walking in the middle of my run.

The devil on my left shoulder was telling me to stop. To give in.
Reminding me of how tired I was.

But then the angel on my right shoulder whispered 2 little words
in my ear that made all the difference…

“Jerry Rice”

Uhhhh. What???

Well, if your a football fan you’ll know that Jerry Rice was the
greatest wide receiver in NFL history. (Just cause I’m a girl
doesn’t mean I don’t know my football ;)

But his story goes much deeper than that.

He dominated the game at a level higher than almost any
other player.

The average career of an NFL Player is 3.3 years. But Jerry
Rice played for 20 years in one of the most dangerous
positions on the field.

They simply couldn’t catch him :)

But what really made Jerry Rice so good?

*** He worked harder. ***

His intensity during practice and in the off-season was
border-line obsessive.

Rice would practice long after the rest of the team had
gone home.

And he was perhaps most famous for his off-season workouts.
Six days a week he would run a steep, five-mile trail. Followed
by ten wind sprints up the steepest part.

Then an equally grueling weight-lifting session in the evening.

Rice knew all about the hustle. He lived it. And he loved it.

So today while I was running my 5-miles around the lake I
thought of Jerry Rice.

Someone who gave it all in EVERY practice. Who continued
to drive through after every one else had gone home.

When my legs are burning and my breath is shaking that’s
the kind of stuff that keeps me going.

People like Jerry Rice who know that nothing great comes
without hard work.

There are no push-button solutions, loopholes, or shortcuts.

If you don’t come to play hard, you’re not gonna win this game.

Doesn’t matter if it’s football, running or building a business.

If you’re not willing to put in the work…

Staying up till 2am. Doing whatever it takes to REALLY build
your business.

Then get off the field.

Cause this game takes work…

And that doesn’t mean wandering around the forums for
hours on end.

It means doing the REAL stuff. Creating content. Creating
squeeze pages. Building a list. And delivering massive value.

I know lots of “gooroos” like to make it sound easy. But I’m
not gonna sell you that kind of sugar-coated bologna.

At the beginning, it takes a whole bunch of hustle :)

But it’s definitely worth it when you start seeing those
PayPal payments and Clickbank checks coming through.

It’s worth it when you start building a business that fits
around YOUR lifestyle and not around some boss
that gets to dictate your every move.

It’s worth it when you get to have the flexibility to work your
own hours and spend the rest of your time with the people who
matter most.

So stop chasing after shiny objects, loopholes, and imaginary
shortcuts.

This game is won on hard work. It’s built on the ‘foundations’.

And you need to ask yourself whether or not you’re really cut out for it.

Are you willing to do the work and put in a little
‘Jerry Rice’ style hustle?

The Most Crucial And Critical Skill Needed….to Make Money Online

I have a quick question for you here.

‘Can anyone make money online?’

What do you think?

We’ve all been bombarded by those ridiculous websites complete with speed boats and fast cars and money falling out of the sky… All with incredulous claims of untold riches by doing next to nothing.

They scream at us that ‘Yes! Anyone can make money online!’

What a load of baloney!

Ready for the truth.

Here it is. And forgive me for being blunt.

‘Can anyone make money online?’

No.

They can’t.

Now I appreciate that I am probably in the minority saying this. The only reason that most say that anyone can make money online –is because they are trying to get you to buy their lame product. I do not mean to sound negative – just realistic.

Not everyone can make money online.

Not everyone is cut out for it.

Why is this?

Because Making Money Online is a business. And businesses can fail.

The problem that the majority of newcomers to this business have – is they are Opportunity Seekers.

The majority of newcomers will hop skip and stumble from one opportunity to another – never stopping long enough to see one thorough to completion.

These folk are doomed from the start.

Now – please – don’t berate yourself if this sounds like you. I was an opportunity seeker when I began.

But I very quickly learned – to succeed – I would have to change.

And so will you.

You need to stop being an Opportunity Seeker – and morph into a Strategic Thinker.

What does that mean? Let me tell you….

Let me tell you what the most crucial and critical skill you need is – to succeed online.

I must warn you – it is a bit of a cliché – but it is also 100% true.

It is having the correct MINDSET. What does that mean? It means realizing there will be some new skills that you will have to learn, understand, and implement – before you see any returns.

But here’s the kicker…

…a cruel irony of this business – is that EVERYONE thinks they have the correct mindset.

EVERYONE THINKS THIS!!

In reality – only 3% do.

Here is something that is NEVER spoken about.

For the majority wanting to create a web business – this will be the FIRST TIME they have EVER created a business.

Now – there is NOTHING wrong with this (in fact it is to be applauded) – but the issue is – most are not mentally prepared – or even think about – the new skills needed to learn.

For some strange reason – the web is viewed all misty-eyed and romantic — almost as a bit of fun from home.

But it is a BUSINESS first and foremost.

And in ANY business – there will be new skills to learn.

In ANY business.

Why should the web be different? IT ISN”T!!

The key to success – is to UNDERSTAND this – BEFORE you start.

Most do not (despite saying they may).

Making Money Online is a skill.

Just like carpentry – or pottery – or golf.

The definition of a skill – means it is LEARNABLE.

Would you expect to become a master carpenter – or potter -golfer – INSTANTLY?

Of course not.

You have to spend time – and work – to learn these skills.

And Making Money Online is no different.

But – it IS a skill – that can be learned – when one addresses this business with the correct mindset.

Once the correct mindset is established – then dividends can eventually be achieved.

So if you want success, it will require work.

Expect to make plenty of mistakes.

It’s far more important to get started now than to spend months perfecting something.

The people who succeed online. They’re not smarter or armed with super human powers. But they’re willing to work just a little bit more…

Get up a little bit earlier.

Stay up a little bit later.

Care about your subscribers a little bit more.

You see, success requires a price, and that price is PERSISTENCE.

We begin our journey by modeling success. In business, there’s no reason
to reinvent the wheel when you can simply model after someone who has
already created the type of business you want to create.

Modeling after someone else’s success formula is the fastest way to create a successful online business. Sure, there’s still a learning curve and you’re going to have to get your hands dirty, but having a proven roadmap to get you there is priceless.

I would take this one step further and strongly encourage you to get a coach who is already achieving what you want to achieve. I make it a rule in my business to have a personal coach at all times. Now, keep in mind that this can be very costly. One-on-one coaching generally cost about $1,000 per month. However, it’s going to save you YEARS of trial and error. With a coach, you will achieve your goals exponentially faster. My business started growing by leaps and bounds once I brought a personal coach on board.

A coach provides you with the accountability needed to get things done 10
times faster and they hold your hand every step of the way so that you ALWAYS know exactly what needs to be done next. There’s no second guessing yourself.

Imagine how powerful that would be in your business… having someone who can answer any of your questions and guide you step-by-step to your goal. Having a mentor has been one of the biggest keys to my success.

2. Deep Practice

Business, at it’s core, is the greatest game ever created. And you will find that the most successful entrepreneurs treat it as such. Just like any sport, to win you MUST acquire a specific set of skills to succeed.

Skill is aquired through deep practice.

Deep practice is a form of practice that allows you to rapidly accelerate the learning process.

For example, copywriting is an essential (and HIGHLY underrated) skill that you MUST learn if you want to build a highly successful online business.

Now, because I know this is a critical business skill, I have a very unique way of developing my copywriting skills. What I do is I actually copy great sales letters and emails word-for-word. This allows me to literally hard-wire the skills and talent of top copywriters into my own practice.

This form of deep practice is one of the fastest ways to become a top-notch copywriter. And many of the top copywriters online have done this very same thing… building their skill by copying word-for-word some of the world’s greatest copy as part of their deep practice.

You should be spending 1 hour minimum per day in some form of deep
practice. Building a great business, just like anything else, requires lots of practice. And this is something that lots of people don’t realize. There are actually a certain set of skills that you must acquire to build a successful business online.

And at the end of the day, the person who practices the most is going to
win the game.

3 Big Rocks Per Week

This next principle is something that will allow you to create MASSIVE
success in your business when applied.

I call it 3 Big Rocks Per Week. That means that EVERY week, your main focus should be to accomplish 3 main tasks that will have a major impact on moving your business forward.

The big rocks are the activities in your business that will have the biggest impact on the bottom line. For me, this includes things like…

ad swaps
Creating Top-notch content
Building relationships
Free WSO’s (for building my list)
High-Profile Content Syndication
Guest Blogging
Integration Marketing
Interviews
Teleseminar Series

So each week, I make it a priority to do 3 of these must-do activities. Over the long-term, this creates exponential growth in your business.

You see, what happens to most people is they wake up, check their email,
check their stats, read the forums, study a bunch of stuff about Internet
Marketing and then before you know it, the day’s almost over and you
haven’t actually DONE anything, much less moved your business forward.

Instead, you should complete your most important tasks first thing in the
morning. That way, you’ve moved your business forward before most people
even roll out of bed.

You see, successful people do what other people won’t. Period. The rest
is really up to you.

4. Passion

You must be passionate about the game of business.

Success requires a BURNING DESIRE, an all-consuming obsession.

This is NOT about buying another course or reading another ebook, this
is about doing it, doing it, doing it.

Building a business requires an amazing amount of persistence and an
overwhelming desire to succeed. And that kind of persistence MUST be
backed by PASSION. Passion is what gets you up in the morning and keeps
you working late into the night.

If you want to win this game, you must center your business around something you truly love. Don’t try to conquer 10 different niches. Go after one market that you truly love. Don’t choose a market just because it’s profitable. You’ll lose interest quickly… and some of you probably already know what I’m talking about.

You go after a niche market because you know it’s a profitable market and
then a month later you drop it because it’s no longer interesting. You just can’t seem to hold you attention to it. That’s because you’re following the dollar instead of following your passion.

Building a successful business requires a wellspring of passion, desire, and plenty of late nights. And if you’re not building your business around something you love, you’ll never have what it takes to see it through.

Build your business around your passion, and you’ll soon be having more
fun, providing more value, and making more money.

As said by Gary Vaynerchuk, “Love the process and the results won’t matter”. You have to love the journey more than the results. You have to love your customers more than the money.

Commit to something greater than yourself. Devote yourself to your community. Focus on providing overwhelming value and you’ll be surprised
at how quickly success comes your way.
