Some of these ideas have negative side effects, which is why I stay away from them.

You should consider writing an article about the pros and cons of these and other marketing ideas.

For example, Forms are expensive and you need to find a moderator for each topic which is not always easy. Interviewing other bloggers, also can indicate that they are much better then you are and therefore can sometimes drive more traffic away from your blog. Giving away ebooks for free can also make them harder to spread because the perseption of ‘free’ also means not worth your time to read.
